This is a first-person anecdotal account of a single relationship. The organization of the material is confusing; it's not chronological, but it's also not topic based. It almost feels like a stream of consciousness, with the author jotting down inspirational quotes, memories of interactions with her husband, her perceptions about neurodivergent cognition, or whatever else came to mind. Between the lack of organizational structure and the lack of anything outside personal anecdotes, I found this book to be an interesting glimpse into a particular relationship, but I found very little I could apply to my own relationship.

4 stars
Not a novel as there isn't really a story or a satisfying conclusion. More like a thought experiment about a possible future where industry is mostly abandoned in favor of a society focused on ecological stability.
